Bridging Work for YR 1130 April 2020 (by admin) |
30th April 2020
Hello Year Eleven,
I hope everyone is safe and well.
We have been asked by a couple of partner schools if we could provide any bridging work to facilitate transition of year 11’s to college. None of us know the impact that not being in school from March through to September will have and I am sure there are some worried year 11’s who are coming to one or the other of our campuses in September.
To this end we have created a section on our website purely for these young people with a range of work and activities to help them prepare for their next steps in their chosen subjects and courses.
This can be found at https://www.furness.ac.uk/16-18/year-11/ The website covers work for A levels and all of our vocational courses too.
We would really appreciate it if you could share this with your year 11 group (via school jotter app, updates home etc) to give them the opportunity to get started on thinking about what comes next. It may help to alleviate some of those worries, that I am sure some will be struggling with right now.
We will be contacting our applicants to let them know about this and also promoting on social media, but I do think that your school sending out the link will be of great benefit.
We are also working on some exciting virtual tours and activities to help smooth transition for those vulnerable young people that our Inclusion team would usually be spending time with. We are extremely conscious of how tricky this will all be for some young people and will do everything we can to support a successful transition process.
Many thanks
Stay safe and take care.
