The Aim

The summer school aimed to supplement the transition process for the 2021 Year 7 cohort and assist some of our current year's seven cohort.

The week had six key objectives: 

• To support students' social and emotional well-being through the provision of outdoor, back-to-nature, learning experiences. 

• To assist with relationship building before starting in September with peers and teachers. 

• To address any fears about starting school in September. 

• To focus on literacy and numeracy, but particularly building a love of story and reading to facilitate a positive start to reading for pleasure. 

• To build relationships with parents. 

• To enable children to familiarise themselves with the new school environment
